Cardinal Bird Painting
The other day I was taking a walk outside and saw a bright red cardinal bird sitting in a tree. The cardinal is the state bird of Virginia. I thought it’d make a nice, vibrant colored painting, so here I am a few days later with a new 6″ by 6″ (3/4″ cradle) oil painting on Ampersand artist panel!
Here it is:

Purple Tree-Lined Street Painting
I actually painted this one last year. I was walking around the Adams Morgan neighborhood in Washington, DC during the springtime and took a picture of this tree after a spring rain had just ended. This is an oil painting on 10″ by 8″ stretched canvas with a 3/4″ cradle.
Here’s this one -

What can I say, I like painting what I see in nature!
